ARTISTS
We invite different local artist to display their work at Babycakes. We feature a different artist every month. We have eight separate locations along the entire length of the cafe wall. At each of these locations are permanent anchors for photographs or art. These anchors will also hold a clear pine box that can be utilized to display three dimensional art. We do not and never have charged a commission for the art display. We enjoy the presentation and are thrilled to showcase the wide array of very talented artists in the local community.
RECYCLING
We have been diligently recycling for about fifteen years. We recycle our cardboard, newsprint and catalogs, glass, plastic and tin. If you are ever in need of the five gallon plastic buckets, please call the shop and let us know. We will be glad to set some aside for you.
COMPOST
We buy the majority of our produce and fresh eggs from local farmers. The fruit and vegetable peelings and eggshells, and organic coffee grounds are placed on one of our several compost bins. It doesn't take long for this to turn into 'black gold'. There are, however, times when our compost bins are full to the brim. When this happens, we put a sign out front notifying customers of free organic compost. It never goes to waste (pun intended).
